Shahrukh Khan, the Badshah of Bollywood, has strangely
managed to steer clear of rumours about affairs with his heroines. This, even
though he has extremely close friendships with Juhi (she is also a co-producer
with King Khan) and Kajol (there were rumours abounding that Ajay Devgan
actually asked Kajol to end her friendship with her most romantic – on-screen –
hero).
What has dogged the dimpled actor is rumours linking him
with Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra. That never went anywhere, though Johar and
Khan indulge and quite a bit of good-natured ribbing and kidding on public
forums and various channels of national TV.
Then Don happened.
Suddenly everyone was abuzz with rumours about Shahrukh Kahn and Priyanka
Chopra. The whisperatti nudged and winked all over town and Gauri Khan began
reacting by not calling Priyanka to the dos hosted at Mannat, the Khan stronghold. But the grapevine wouldn’t rest. And
Karan Johar threw in his lot with Gauri. From banning Priyanka to fighting with
and even not talking to Shahrukh, Johar did everything possible to break up the
jodi. In public he made frequent and
vehement claims that Gauri was his friend and he was taking the stand for her.
But the grist in the gossip mills insisted that Shahrukh’s alleged affair with
Priyanka made him spurn Johar.
Then, out of the blue, came news about an aging Shahrukh and
an equally aging Gauri (both are in their forties) having a third child. The
couple already has a son (Aryan) and a daughter (Suhana). A politically right
and complete family. The rumours of having a third child because they wanted a
son and also rumours about them having gender-selected the baby just didn’t
hold water.
Soon after the birth of the baby, Priyanka lost her father.
Shahrukh was there solidly by her side. The chatterati’s joys knew no bounds as
two and two were put together and all sorts of numbers, fractions and decimals
came up.
Rumour 1: There was trouble in the Shahrukh – gauri marriage
for the first time since they first started dating each other because of the
falling graph of Shahrukh’s career. They decided to have a baby to improve
their marriage, but since Gauri is in her 40s, they decided to let someone else
carry and deliver the baby.
Rumour 2: Shahrukh and Gauri were having difficult times
because of the Priyanka angle, they said. A pandit
told them that a child would improve their relationship, which is why they
had the child.
Rumour 3: AbRam is actually Priyanka’s and Shahrukh’s child,
they allege. Priyanka stayed out of the country for very long on the pretext of
recording her album but actually to have the child, they further allege.
Shahrukh went for the birth of the baby making an excuse of his shoulder, the
round up the allegations.
There is no knowing what is the real truth and why AbRam
came into the Khan household.
